Day Five

Normally while driving when I see signs such as "next exit in 50 miles" I wouldn't think all that much about it outside of a quick glance at my gas tank to make sure I had enough gas to make it to the next exit. Today, however, as Teddy repeatedly vomited a mixture of juice/grapes/pizza into my hands, that same sign that I normally would have ignored became significantly more noticeable.

Our drive from Pennsylvania to West Virginia today was about 4 hours, which Josh drove the entirety of. We stopped once somewhere in nowheresville to get gas and eat lunch. Thankfully, although Teddy got sick about an hour after we stopped for lunch, he has been acting normal and eating normal since then, so I'm crossing my fingers it was a one time thing and not anything more. While there was no exit for 50 miles from when this happened, the good thing about being wherever the hell we were in PA was, is that there are these strange pull off type areas on the side of the highway every few miles, so we were able to park here for several minutes and strip Teddy, wipe him down with baby wipes, clean the barf out of his car seat and floor, get him in clean clothes, and carry on (with the windows down to get rid of the horrible smell). Our hotel is next to a Target so we picked up a bottle of odor removing Fabreeze and should be ready to roll tomorrow. We arrived in West Virginia, settled into the hotel, got take-out from a restaurant next door, swam in the hotel pool, and are watching the boys jump on the hotel bed while we cross our fingers they get tired sometime soon and sleep well. Oh and if that was the only barf we encountered on our trip that would also be real cool.
