Quick summary of how we ended up here: We were thinking about moving to CA, my husbands job got eliminated and so we decided why not? One of my biggest fears is sitting on the couch as a 70-something and having regret about all the things I didn’t do. And those things I’m sure will change over time, however making a big move and living somewhere completely new and unfamiliar is definitely something I would regret not having done.
Fast forward from March to now... We are moving to Valencia, California which is a part of Santa Clarita, California!!! Santa Clarita is a suburb of Los Angeles about 35 miles north of LA, located here:

Important (not really) things to know about the city of Santa Clarita (According to a quick Google search):
- Population estimate for 2017: 210k
- Home to Six Flag's Magic Mountain Theme Park
- 3rd largest city in LA County
What does any of this really mean? Nothing right now to be honest. Right now while the Tony Awards are on in the background, my husband is folding laundry, the boys are asleep, I’m ignoring a to-do list 100 miles long, I’m fighting off a cold and cough that seems to want to linger forever... I am hopeful. I am hopeful that we are making the right move for our family, that we don’t kill each other in the process of packing and traveling across the United States in a SUV, that they make ear plugs sturdy enough to block out the whining that can be paralyzing from the kids, and that I can avoid an actual nervous breakdown during this process.
Stay tuned!
